Schwalm FAQ

What's the territory for robotic cutters?
Confirmed on request — robotic-cutter territory differs from our other lines. Ask with your quote request and we'll verify your location first.
What does a robotic cutter cost?
Custom-quoted to your rehab program — pipe sizes, cutting volume and configuration. Real numbers after a conversation.
Do you also sell the inspection side?
Yes — minicam inspection systems pair naturally with cutting programs, and our repair division services both.
Can it cut in live lines?
Yes — remote-operated cutting in active pipe is the entire point: reinstatement, roots and prep without shutdown.
Parts and service?
Parts through the dealer channel, plus warranty coordination — and our independent repair division for the inspection equipment in the same program.
Training?
Operator orientation comes with the machine — talk to us about your crew's experience level when quoting.

The Schwalm Legend — Real History

Three generations of a German family company — from a 1938 haulage firm to the world's reference in trenchless rehabilitation robotics.

1938

Georg Schwalm Founds The Firm

A family haulage company in Bad Hersfeld, Germany — the beginning.

1962

Willi Schwalm Joins

Taking over as director in 1965, Willi expanded into sewer flushing and suction vehicles.

1981

The Area's First Sewer Camera

Willi Schwalm had a camera specially designed to inspect sewer condition around Bad Hersfeld — inspection before it was an industry.

The Patents

Rehab Robot + HutlinerPacker

Willi developed the sewer rehab robot and the patent-protected HutlinerPacker® — remotely-controlled milling and liner placement, continually improved to today.

1988

Martin Schwalm Joins

Third generation — taking over management in 1999.

2008

Schwalm Robotic GmbH

Martin Schwalm spins the robotics business out of Schwalm Kanalsanierung — today ~40 specialists serving customers worldwide.

Today

Talpa FSR 1330 / FSR 2060

The current milling and rehab robots carry the family's engineering into the field every day.

With Respect

We honor the Schwalm family — Georg, Willi and Martin — whose three generations built the trenchless robotics category. Facts trace to Schwalm Robotic's own published history; images are manufacturer-published, used respectfully.
